Baron Magazine and Hoi Polloi invite you to a surrealist wine-tasting on The Rooftop of Ace Hotel London, Shoreditch, inspired by TASCHEN's re-release of Salvador Dalí’s mythical 1977 book The Wines of Gala.
The follow-up to Dali’s erotic cookbook Les Diners de Gala, The Wines of Gala presents a Dalínian take on the deep and broad pleasures of the grape. Both books were dedicated to Dalí’s wife and muse Gala (1894–1982), a domineering Russian who hosted lavish dinner parties dedicated to epicurean indulgence.
Led by wine master Demitri of specialist wine importer and distributor Fields Morris & Verdin, get ready to explore the pleasures of taste and pass through ten “divine” Dalí wine categories – including the Wines of Joy and the Wines of Sensuality. The tasting will be accompanied by a view of London’s phallic icon, St Mary Axe, and erotic place settings by Keith Boadwee.
